Shoichi Matsuda is a Team Leader at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan. His research focuses on the development of advanced materials and the analysis of the degradation mechanism in next generation energy storage devices, such as lithium air batteries and lithium metal batteries. He has published over 50 papers in high-impact journals, including Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Science, ACS Energy Letters, Materials Horizons. He was awarded the Early-Career and Emerging Researchers in Physical Chemistry in 2022 and the Young Researcher Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan in 2023. Dr. Matsuda studied chemistry in The University of Tokyo and received his PhD in 2015. After that, he joined NIMS as an ICYS (International Center for Young Scientists) researcher and then got a tenured position in 2017.
