Full Professor of Electrochemistry and Physical Chemistry at the Department of Materials Science, University of Milano-Bicocca, Riccardo Ruffo holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s in Materials Science and Technology from the University of Milan, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Milano-Bicocca. He further expanded his research experience through two sabbaticals at Stanford University (2008 and 2013) with Y. Cui and R. A. Huggins, focusing on silicon anodes for lithium batteries.
His research primarily explores materials for energy production and storage, with a particular emphasis on electrodes for alkaline ion batteries and semiconducting polymers for electro-optical applications, including photovoltaics and electrochromism. Additionally, he has extensive expertise in the electrochemical characterization of organic molecules.
Prof. Ruffo has co-authored 166 peer-reviewed papers (H-index 46) and contributed to over 100 national and international conferences.
