Hong Jin Fan received his PhD from the National University of Singapore, followed by postdoc research at Max-Planck-Institute of Microstructure Physics and the University of Cambridge. He joined Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2008. His research is focused on exploring new materials and understanding their functions in electrocatalysis and new batteries. He has co-authored 290 journal papers. He has been recognized as Highly Cited Researcher since 2016 by Clarivate. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today Energy, and editorial/advisory board member of many journals including Energy and Environmental Sciences, Next Materials, Advanced Science, Advanced Materials Interface, Materials Today Nano.
